Is an iconic Las Vegas hotel brand name looking for a new home?
It was looking more likely Wednesday after Hilton Worldwide notified the owner of the famed Las Vegas Hilton that it plans to terminate its franchise license agreement by the end of the year.
Hilton Worldwide said that as of Jan. 1, its franchise agreement with Colony Resorts LVH Acquisitions LLC, owner and operator of the Las Vegas Hilton, will have been terminated, forcing the off-Strip hotel to give up the Hilton name and loyalty program.

So whats to happen to The Experience?...No news..It was set to go into the Neonopolis but finances fell through and it got shoved aside plus the recent auctions of the actual experience I've given up hope that it will ever return to Vegas..It's rather sad as the one thing I loved the most was seeing 1000's of Trekkie/Trekkers walking the strip..Where else can you do this...Good food, Good drinks Gambling, all wearing pointed ears and a phaser..The Experience?..You are solely missed

BRAID BRAID BRAID?..WHAT IS BRAID.."TOS"

So I thought I'd delve a little into the TOS braid here and please check back as I will edit this section as I locate pics from my old computer...
There's so much to learn about this braiding and its function...We all know it was to signify rank..We know it was left over embroidery from the "10 Commandments"..We also know that the swirls or as I call them the worms...(just a joke between friends)were reversed during the 1st season...But I thought I'd Indulge you in a fandom history of this braid...

In the first picture we have a standard straight braid..We People of the early 70s were just happy to wear a gold shirt with a black collar,,It's what was out there..

Then we started to notice the braid had some wave to it..hence the "Ric-Rac"

The first commercially sold braid at conventions even remotely similar to the original was this

Then if I'm wrong correct me...Kathy Philsberry and Joe Kerezman in conjunction as JK2 costumers came out with this braid...As far as I am concerned still a wonderful 1st season braid..First licensed braid sold

 With the height of Fan web based films a new braid was created from an original template drawing thus creating a virtual duplicate of the original which is currently being sold by Rodd.com

So far..My assessment of the braids?..They're all good..We always look a gift horse in the mouth and in my opinion they are all accurate for the times..Do not ask me to choose which one is the best...Fact is...With out the few individuals I will mention below we'd still be wearing that old straight braid with ric-rac formed around it...My special thanks go to

To BIO or to PERSCAN?

Robert Fletcher Always referred to this device as the Bio Buckle and in joking the "Belly Warmer"...It was for all purposes an excellent Idea at the time..a device worn by all Starfleet personnel to monitor the wearers Bio functions...Beyond popular speculations this was never ever referred to as the "Perscan" device amongst the production crews and developers...OIt was Fan made up like the extra large captains shoulder rank in TWOK or the Fleet Captain rank...These were made of resin and there were several different paint schemes...The original I owned was a gloss black...This was in the early eighties...Speculation is that they were black with a dark brown outer base..I have NO basis as I do not own mine anymore but a gloss black does sort of answer the question..Reflection..If your wearing a tan suit the rim will look brown from the reflection as well as grey/blue...I can only go by what I owned and what Fletcher told me..The pictures below are from the It's a Wrap auctions..But to be honest..Gloss black or brown highlight, both are accurate..enjoy

Kirk and Chekov's Boots TWOK

We have discussed this a lot over the years about what style of boot to wear with the TWOK uniform...Facts know is that they were Florsheim ankle boots in various styles...To give a good example are the pictures of Kirks and Chekov's boots...Unfortunately they are styles not produced anymore but you can get a very close repo from Florsheim still...and there are others out on the market that will do..I stress to many fans that write me to not worry about the exact brand but the style and look..Just please dont use black sneakers...LOL

The Infamous "Security Device"

Yep..Those weird looking things on the back of the division & Rank shoulder strap..The device was made from a German model tank wheel..There are several different designs but the best known is the Kirk and Spock
